The Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation is researching the addition of a new program to screen citizens of Louisiana for Glaucoma and Diabetic Retinopathy.
This was one of the Glaucoma Screening Units that made the trip in the winter of 2012 to Louisiana. It was supplied by the “Friends of the Congressional Glaucoma Caucus Foundation” and staffed by Lions and doctors of Louisiana. The use was made possible by Lion Chris Carlone as he traveled the state with the unit.
First off we will need the support of all Lions in the state to bring about this new program. We will need their commitment to fund, staff, and organize screening throughout the state. This will be much like we have done for CubSight. It will create a permanent position on the staff, who will have many hats. One of which will be the responsibility for the mobile unit which will travel the state with the required testing equipment in it.

Both of these sight destroying illnesses can be detected with the latest FUNDUS Camera technology.
